I am here as an Art Psychotherapist to support children, young people and adults in dealing with problematic or distressing psychological or emotional concerns. Working together with the art making process, it is possible to overcome difficulties that can seem confusing or impossible to talk about. Art has a way of engaging our core-selves; it can speak for those who struggle to make their thoughts into words and can be a powerful instrument in helping individuals express and understand troubling thoughts, feelings or modes of behaviour.
Through the healing creativity of the Art Therapy process, I would like to work with you, your child or even both of you together if appropriate, in finding ways to transform the difficulties that are being brought to therapy. I would like to help you to develop greater emotional balance and self-esteem.
I can offer you a safe, confidential and completely non-judgmental relationship in which to explore your issues and just a reminder that “you do not need to be good at art” to be able to use Art Therapy.
This form of therapy is suitable for all ages and is particularly useful for dyadic therapy, which is parent and children together, as well as peer groups
Art Therapy is useful for exploring:
- Depression
- Low self-esteem

Before an initial session, we would have a conversation by phone or email and if you’d like to come for an initial session we would then have a more in-depth talk about your concerns and I would also explain how I work. Together we would think about whether Art Therapy might be right for you or your child. After this we could begin the therapy.
If its for your child, I would recommend we have another one-off session to discover if he or she feels happy engaging in the Art Therapy process.
I offer reasonable rates on a sliding scale and will work with you to make therapy accessible and affordable. I accept cash or a personal cheque at the time of appointment. Please contact me if you think I might be able to help you.
